Stichting Vluchtelingen Werkintegratie

At our foundation "Stichting Vluchtelingen Werkintegratie" we are committed to the integration and economic independence of refugees, asylum seekers and status holders in the Netherlands. Our foundation was founded by a group of committed administrators who have seen from their own experience and observation how difficult it can be for newcomers to find their way in a foreign country.

Who we are

The board members of the foundation "Stichting Vluchtelingen Werkintegratie" each have a unique background and a common goal: to offer opportunities to those who have had to leave their home country in search of safety and a better life. They founded the foundation with the conviction that everyone deserves a chance to build a meaningful life and contribute to society. While working and volunteering in various reception locations, our founders saw up close the challenges faced by refugees and asylum seekers. The lack of access to the labor market, language barriers and a lack of understanding of the Dutch (work) culture were significant obstacles. This inspired them to set up an organization that not only offers support, but also offers practical solutions to overcome these obstacles.

Our dream

We believe in an inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to contribute and grow. Our founders are determined to make this vision a reality by providing a support network for those who need it most. Together, we are building a future where refugees, asylum seekers and status holders can fully and meaningfully participate in our society.

How we are going to realize that dream

"Stichting Vluchtelingen Werkintegratie" wants to bridge the gap between newcomers and Dutch society by offering language and culture lessons, skills training and personal guidance. We aim for 1 volunteer in each AZC, regular and emergency shelter location, who is trained and supervised by us to act as a point of contact. This helps both volunteers and other residents to take their first steps into the Dutch labor market, promotes economic independence and social integration, and contributes to an inclusive and resilient society.
